Elective Hip and Knee Joint Replacement
Current Project
This page introduces you to the Elective Hip and Knee Joint Replacement Project
Introduction
This is the third pathway to be developed through the Patient Pathways Project.
Some of the particular issues that will be considered in this pathway are continuity of care with locum staffing, effective pre-assessment and discharge planning processes, and how a smooth journey can be provided for West Coast patients receiving surgery at hospitals outside the West Coast.
Alison McDougall will be working alongside health professionals and service providers to gather information from key staff involved in the pathway to establish best practice guidelines and service requirements. Interviews will commence in February 2009.
After all information has been gathered and process documents created, the information will be collated into a single file for the journey in its entirety and released for consultation by all stakeholders.
If you would like more information on this project please contact Alison McDougall, (03) 768-2815.
