Warm Up West Coast

Home insulation improves the energy efficiency of homes, making them warmer and drier and therefore improves the health and wellbeing of the families living in them. Warm Up West Coast is a programme that provides free home insulation for eligible families on the West Coast.

Who can get the Warm Up West Coast Insulation?

To be eligible for the Warm Up West Coast programme you must:

  • Be living in a home built before 1st January 2000
  • Have a community services card

And meet one or more of the criteria below:

  • You or someone living with you has a housing related health problem, such as a respiratory condition
  • You have a child under 2 years living in the household
  • You or someone living with you is over 65

Who is Warm Up West Coast?

It is a joint venture between Healthy West Coast, Autex GreenStuf contractor The Insulation Company, and the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA).

 

What Insulation Material will be used?

Insulation

Ceiling and underfloor insulation will be installed by the Insulation Company in conjunction with local installers on the West Coast.

The material to be used is called GreenStuf, an environmentally-friendly polyester product that is heat-bound rather than chemically-bound like fibre-glass insulation. It has Asthma Foundation approval and carries a durability warranty of 50 years.
