Surveillance data indicate that the incidence of influenza-like-Illness on the Coast has peaked and is now down to levels seen in last year's influenza season. This means it now appears unlikely that Community Based Assessment Centres will be required on the West Coast at this stage.

Health authorities are maintaining their surveillance of Influenza-like Illness to determine if this drop in incidence will be sustained.
While numbers experiencing influenza have dropped, there will still be some who will contract the illness for some time yet, so people need to continue the good hygiene practices that can reduce the risks of contracting or passing on influenza.
There are three key actions that can lessen the risks of contracting or passing on influenza.
