Human Resources Collaboration

West Coast District Health Board (WCDHB) and Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) have today announced an arrangement for greater collaboration involving all aspects of Human Resources management and related support services.

Under this arrangement WCDHB will gain immediate access to the newly established CDHB Human Resources Shared Services facility located in Christchurch.

The following services and support will be managed from Christchurch, while local HR support will remain based in Greymouth.

The arrangement will be implemented from mid September and will be fully operational by mid December 2009.

This new way of working means WCDHB will retain its local face to face services and gain access to the greater resources provided by CDHB.  This initiative is designed to ensure better support for the front line delivery of service at both organisations that have a history of working together to provide health care services.

West Coast District Health Board Chief Executive Joel George said, "The Human Resources arrangement is an excellent example of the collaboration that is occurring between District Health Boards and further strengthens the close relationship that the West Coast has with Canterbury."

"This collaboration plays an important part of building and maintaining a stronger health workforce across Canterbury and the West Coast," Canterbury District Health Board Chief Executive David Meates said.
