Summer
We have altered our usual clinic roster to reflect the increasing numbers of people in town. For the weekends that we are on duty there will be an extra clinic session on Saturday mornings. We hope that this will help busy Franz Josef people to get to the clinic as well as improving access for visitors to the town. For the same reasons we have shifted many of the afternoon clinic sessions back an hour; now from 15:00 -18:00.
Christmas and New Year
We have tried to keep a cohesive service going through the Christmas break. We understand that emergencies don't fit neatly into session times but for less urgent needs we would be grateful if you could use the times when the clinic is scheduled to be open as much as possible.
The New Clinic
We are delighted that work on the new clinic is now well underway. We have our fingers crossed for good weather and speedy progress.
Doctors
Martin London is back on deck from December 20th. Until then Dr Alan Brookes will be taking care of the South Westland G.P. work.
Answerphone
We have been advised by the West Coast District Health Board that 'out of hours' we must turn our clinic telephone over to an answering service called HML. We have experienced a few teething problems in the early stages of this process but these will be rapidly sorted out we hope. The people answering the phone at HML are qualified nurses and have been provided with local information about how we can be contacted for urgent matters. We will keep you advised of any developments in this matter. The phone numbers for you to call remain the same. We would be interested to hear your comments if you have used the HML service.
